YIG holds groundbreaking ceremony of the largest air separation plant in Thilawa SEZ, for the growing demands of industrial gases in Myanmar
Mr. Arin Jira, Chairman of the Board of Director, Yangon Industrial Gas (Thilawa) Co., Ltd. (YIG), the affiliated company of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. (BIG), together with executives participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new largest air separation plant, in Myanmar.
“YIG has spent more than 16 million US Dollars in building the Air Separation Plant, located at Thilawa Special Economic Zone, Zone B, in Yangon. The construction is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2020, when the commercial operation is also due to start, with an operating capacity of 35,000 tons per year. The ASU will be strengthening YIG’s position as the leading gases player in Myanmar and enhancing the company capacity with high technology to supply the gaseous nitrogen and hydrogen to JFE Meranti Myanmar, and other products, liquid nitrogen, oxygen, argon and gaseous hydrogen in various solutions to Myanmar’s growing healthcare, food freezing and beverage, steel & fabrication, and laboratory.” Mr. Arin Jira said.
